Overall how I think the project went

Although I did not meet some of my goals such as having a weekly podcast as there was not enough activity happening throughout a weeks to provide a week by week podcast. There was still many things I was happy with.

This year I think I experimented with many different ideas on how a music video is produced and the understanding of it to scouting for actors, researching a song and then eventually seeing them live (I am going to be seeing them live for a third time tonight). Also getting a more of a understanding cinematography.

Another thing i enjoyed doing was making my magazine advert finding the right photo was a long process with many different photo shoots in different locations to find the perfect photo which suited the theme which I think I found.

If there was one thing I would do different if I was to do it again it would be to be more adventurous with the story we portrayed.  

This will be my last post on this blog as everything is completed.

Magazine adverts

To make a magazine advert it is important to understand how to make a good advert that clearly advertises the artist gets the information out as well as looking aesthetically pleasing.

This magazine advert does everything that a magazine advert needs to do it tells you clearly who the artist is and the information that someone who wanted to buy the album would need as well as looking aesthetically pleasing with contrasting colours.

The style of font also makes it very clear what is said as well as going with the overall theme of the design of the magazine. The simplicity of the design allows the important information to be clearly displayed.

Deciding Photos for the Digipak

With the digipak I have decided to do 2 different themes going on in the digipak as our music video is a hybrid our digipak should also be one.

On the outside of the digipak I will be going for the same theme as the narrative section of the music video so it will contain shots of the beach. For these photos me and one of the actors Natt went and took 2 other people with us and went to different beaches across the wirral ti find aesthetically pleasing shots.

For the inside of the digipak I will use the performance part of the music video and have a graffiti themed inside cover. To get these photos I had to go exploring through the wirral where I found some abandoned tunnels where there was plenty of graffiti on display. 

                                                                         

Timeline for filming

This was the original timeline we made for filming and it has been updated throughout the year with updates and changes we had to make.

These where the original dates that we planned for filming but things did not go to plan with absences from some of the group and some actors where not able to attend. Overall we where still able to finish filming despite the struggles we had.

8th November

This was the first day of filming as we filmed half the narrative part of the video with me and Niamh. We had various shots such as over the shoulder low shots as well as experimenting filming around water which was new and interesting.






22nd November

The date for this date was changed due to weather and being able to find a actor for the performance part of the music we eventually found Connor who agreed to come along. We used Moreton Skatepark to film this as it was empty due to it being school time and the fact it allowed for me to get some unique shots such as having multiple Connors on the screen at the same time.

                                          13th January 

We had to have a break between filming due to mock exams and Christmas holidays so when we got back in January it was still hard to organise going for the last day of filming. In the end it was only me and Tom that could attend with the help of our last actor Natt we used to film the second half of our narrative side of the video.

Day 3 podcast Thoughts and Fellings

A cold cold last day of filming!!

This is photos and videos of our final day filming. Me and Tom went out to NewBrighton beach and with the help of a mate of mine Natt Maxwell we finished our narrative side of the music video

Delay in Production and Reasons Why??

Due to the fact we have our mock exams next week we have had to put a delay on filming to revise for them. We are planing on filming our final day of filming the following week. The final day of filming would be finishing of the narrative side if the music video with our second female actor.

The second day of filming we decided we wanted to do the performance parts we didn't want to do it in a similar place we did the narrative part of our music video so we decided to use the local skate park as it was empty due to the fact we where filming was in school time.and with the vibrant graffiti this made it a nice spot to film the performance.

We decided to do similar planning for Day 2 of filming as well we discussed where when and who we needed for filming.

Change In Plans!

The original plan was to film the second part of the narrative tomorrow but due to the fact both our female actors are ill or cant make it due to over obligations, because of this error we are deciding to do the performance part of the music video. We are going to find a location to do some lip syncing most likely the main chorus.

We walked to the beach and set the camera up we then started planning where on the beach we where gonna take the shots with the best place to take them because the sun made it that we couldn't take our shots in a lot of places.

Preparation for Day 1 Of Filming

Before filming we had to plan out what we where going to do and how we would do it so we decided to make a mind map on the board and discuss what we will do.

This is the target market of the audience of this band I made a fake Instagram account to show what they look like and have used my friend who is a huge fan of the ban as an example.
